Into The Bend

We ride. We take notes. We leave a few breadcrumbs.

Do what you want with it.

Day 1.

Denver to somewhere past Fairplay.

Just a trip.
Me and a good friend.

Riding, stopping, writing things down when it felt worth it.
Sometimes we leave something behind.

A sticker.
A note.
A mark on a sign.

Nothing official.
Just enough to know you’re in the right place.

A dark blue road guide notebook titled "Into the Bend Road Guide" on a wooden surface, with a graphic of a winding road and the phrase "Mapped. Measured. Written down as it happened." Additionally, it has a section labeled "01 - Divide to Divide" with a simple line graph showing a fluctuating route between Denver and Denver.

ROAD GUIDE 001: Divide To Divide

The full 997 mile loop.
Mapped. Measured. Written down as it happened.

What held. What didn’t.
Where we stayed longer than planned.
Where we kept moving.

Divide To Divide: The Ride

This route runs south out of Denver, crosses the Front Range, and drops into the Gunnison Basin before pushing west toward Montrose. From there it climbs into the San Juans -Ouray, Telluride, and the surrounding passes—before turning south through Cortez and Durango.

From Durango, the line heads east over Wolf Creek Pass, then drops into South Fork, where the river slows and the road does the same. From there it opens into the San Luis Valley—long, flat, and exposed—before tracking north along the base of the Sangre de Cristo range.

The return climbs back through Salida, over the divide, and into Denver.

It’s a full loop. No shortcuts.
